Soft brake pedal after brake change?

I changed the rotors and pads on the front end of my 00 9-5 today (back didn't get done because of a mixup on the shipment of parts). After the change the pedal sinks almost to the floor before engaging. At a stop I can build pressure in the system by pumping the pedal but it disapears when the car starts moving.
I have changed brakes in a lot of cars before and the change went easily enough today. Did I somehow get air in the lines and I just have to bleed them or is there something I am missing? If I pump the brakes while driving before coming to a full stop they work very well...just not mantaining pressure during normal operation.
Thanks for the help.
Regards,
PLC
