BB frequentors,
While passing through a nearby town on my way home, a town known for their persnickity finast, one of their finast got on my tail. I guess he wanted to take a long look at my Aero! Well, I was hard pressed to keep it at "25 MPH" so I opted to stop in at a local wine shop that I passed every day going to work for the last 28 years but had never stopped in.
The local's finast stopped behind my car after I parked and watched me leave my car and enter the wine shop so I am thinking stopping was a good thing. Inside I found a real find: "Griffin" Creek Merlot from the Rogue Valley in Oregon. It is a 1998 vintage, their premier release and wow was it good. They had a bottle opened for tasting and after tasting I was ready to buy. The bottle is regular $45.99 in CT but they had it for $14.99. After some discussion they sold it to me for $13.50 (10% off). At home I looked it up on the internet and at the vinyard it is $35 so I felt I got a good deal.
I have since gone back and bought 3 cases as I will be sharing this wine when I have cookouts: Kabobs on the grill, grilled tenderloin, grilled pork tenderloin, etc.
I apologize for the slightly off topic but it is a Griffin!
