The T7 does not boost to a pressure target, so a map-hack will not do anything. It boosts to a mass-air flow target via the MAF. (I can see the wheels turning....)
One can argue that a low restriction filter will not increase power, but by that logic someone could argue that a plugged paper element would not decrease power. A lower restriction filter probably will improve turbo spoolup.
Now a level two analysis. The ECU can boost to air flow targets, but the torque that results is not simply the air mass flow plus fuel. If the turbo has to work harder to overcome a restrictive filter, the wastegate has to be further closed to create more pressure (and more flow) across the exhaust turbine stage. That is backpressure on the engine and that directly robs shaft power. So there is a cost to a restrictive filter. And the compressor is working harder to do this, so the discharge air is hotter and the IC needs to work harder and the IC ouput and combustion air are warmer and less dense, so the pressure need to be higher yet. So, yes a lower restriction filter will provide more power, but not more air flow. Think about that. Also keep in mind for typical OEM turbo applications the exhaust backpressure is often around 2X's the boost pressure. So if the turbo is at 20 PSI because it is hot out, then the exhaust back pressure might be 40 PSI or more. That is a lot. And we have not even talked about the effect that has on volumetric efficiency and the ECU makes the turbo work even harder trying to get to the air mass flow objective. So the pressures and temperature are getting high, the IC is behind the condensor, the charge air is really hot and the mixture goes up to fight the knocking potential at those temperature and the ignition timing is less agressive. That too reduces torque at the target air mass flow objective.
And none of that probably means anything to your V6... sorry, I got carried away. :0
