I guess I am being skeptical here.. as I do agree with your comment on the brake inspection. My point is that I don't think that same incentive exists in the very early going (i.e. 10k). I believe any wear and tear the first 16k was covered on my car.. which is a 2001 lpt.
Having said that, the maintenance was "free" for the 10k, 20k and 30k. Both the 10 and 20K are basically the same, they replace the engine oil and rotate the tires, along with the inspect/check items and fluid toppings mentioned.
As for the 30k, I just had that done last week. In addition to the oil and tire rotation, they also replace the plugs, air filter & cabin filter. I also had them replace/flush the brake and coolant fluids, which they said had previously been covered under the 30K but was stopped after the 2000 model year. I wrote to Saab and they explained that the brake fluid is different and now has a life expectancy of 60k, and that the coolant was good up to 30k but no longer part of the "free" maintenance.
