Summer/winter tires (sorry, forgot my name!)

Welcome. I had two 9000's ('89 and '95) and they were great in the snow. What we are referring to here is the Aero that comes with high performance summer tires. They are useless in the snow, by design. Having never owned snow tires in my life, I didn't know what it was all about, either. But when I bought my Aero they told me I would need winter tires. I bought the Saab Gislaved package, and am absolutely thrilled with the Aero in the snow, with the winter tires. Best car I've ever had. I now realize that it isn't a function of the car, or whether it has (or doesn't have) AWD, it is having the proper tires that make the car function so well in the snow. Eventhough my 9000's were fine (I had Michelin MXV4 Energy tires), I realize that they would have been even better with snow tires.
Good Luck,
AeroLady
