wiper electrical problem

Yesterday morning, it started to rain, moved the wiper stalk off and back to rain-sensing, no sweep. Repeated several times, no sweep. Moved back to low speed, worked fine. Rain-sensing, nothing. Pulled for washer fluid, sprayed fine, but no sweep.
Last night, started to rain, put in rain-sensing, worked fine.
My 20,000 mile checkup is several months away. If it works fine until then, I doubt that SAAB would replace wiper switch (likely candidate) due to single failure. If it happens again, I'll certainly make service appointment.
Anyone else have similiar problem, and did it exacerbate?
thanks
Ed

p.s.
otherwise, I've been rather pleased with the rain-sensing function. It would sometimes get confused by a light snow (I guess that's why they don't call them snow-sensing), but all-in-all, an option that I probably wouldn't have bought separately, but I'm glad it was part of the touring package.
