Don't let *any* oil or grease get onto the bulbs when you replace them. That means fingerprints or any other contamination. Use a paper towel to handle them, and do so gingerly. Also, replace BOTH sides at the same time.
You might also look for any sign of moisture leaking into the headlamp assembly.
Also use a voltmeter to test the voltage reaching the lamp. Too high (say over 14.5 volts) or too low (less than 13 volts) will cause the lamps to either burn out quickly or not operate at peak efficiency which also shortens their life. If the voltage is too high, it is usually the voltage regulator that has failed. If too low, it is usually the alternator brushes that need replacement. On Saab alternators, the brushes and regulator are a one piece replacement item.
