Trionic 7 or greater (in all 9-5s, Viggens, and 2000 and greater 9-3s) boost settings are based on *absolute pressure*, not *gage pressure* (difference between measured and atmospheric). The combustion chamber pressure (and hence detonation tendency) will be the same in Baltimore (sea level) as Angel Fire, NM (9000 feet), much to the dismay of "Bimmer drivers" who's ultimate driving machines are left gasping for air as the Saabs roar past. 85 octane (high altitude regular grade) will leave puddles of pistion metal clinging to what's left of your engine...
