Hi dtech,
You're an engineer, you can judge for yourself. I'm an engineer too,
but I cannot fathom working _only_ with equations like the Chemical
Engineers do.
Below is the oil analysis.
I posted the same information over on http://www.bobistheoilguy.com, and the
TBN value of 17.5 caused an Amsoil rep to turn green with envy.
I still prefer Mobil 1 (especially 10W-30 and 0W-40), but if you live
somewhere where you need the 0W and you cannot find Mobil 1 0W-40, Saab
0W-30 should be fine.
Have you considered Delvac 1 5W-40? That's an excellent oil as well.
There is also Red label Castrol Syntec 0W-30 which meets ACEA A3/B3.
It's starting to show up in Autozone in the U.S. You need to make
sure that it says "Made in Germany". That's an excellent oil
as well, and probably better than Saab 0W-30.
TBN value of 17.5 is really meant for drain interval much longer than
5,000 miles.
thanks
Jae
