Since 10K miles have passed since they did the timing belt, it might not have been an audioable problem with the pulleys at that time.

If they had replaced the pulleys, they would have had to charge you for the parts even though the belt replacement was free.

It's not until the car manufacturer comes out with a bullentin that they can do it for free.

Contact the dealer and have their take on it.

If your mechanic feel that a failure is eminent, don't drive the car. Have it either repaired at your mechanic or towed to the dealer.

It's TOO much money to gamble with.
