according to the SID anyhow. I think the SID is a bit on the conservative side too. I've seen the mileage as good as 7L/100 kms cruising at 100kms/hr on the highway and I've also seen it go to 14-15L/100kms when I'm pushing it for all its worth.
If fuel efficiency is one of your main concerns, and you still want the size and luxury of a 9-5 (or comparable car) I really don't think you'll find anything even close to the performance and luxury of the Saab with the same mileage capability. Compare the mileage numbers to a 5 series or E class (although I think a 530 would probably do well- the BMW 3.0 I6 is quite an engine)
If you could go a bit smaller, the Jetta TDI wagon might be something to consider although its not as sporty. I've heard rumours that the Passat will be available with TDI in North America soon.
