You are right to want a v6 and a wagon. I have had 3 9-5s already, 2 SE's and one Aero. My wagon SE lease will be up in August. And I much prefer the wagon to the sedan. What I would like most is an Aero wagon and time will tell if I can afford one in August. The wagon is more balanced, has far more utility, a better ride, better handling and only slightly poorer acceleration and gas mpg.

The sedan, without a hatch, just lacks utility. I am really pissed that the new 9-3's have no hatch like my 2 2002 9-3SE's do. All Saab would have to do to both 9-5 and 9-3 sedans is hatch the back from the top of the window on both cars and presto -- versatility and utility -- with a sedan look. But no. Without a large opening to put stuff through, all utility of seats folding down is lost.

What is nice about the wagon is that when the seats fold down, the cargo floor is flat. They didn't even do this on the sedan. And the headrests on the rear seat of the wagon are SAHR's like on the front. Not so the sedan. The wagon is just much better executed.

But if you want a six -- well, no manual. I love the Aero four except for a vibration at 1200 rpm or so in first gear. Had it to the dealer several times and still it vibrates. My 9-3 SE hots don't make this nasty vibration. For my money, the best engine is the 9-3 SE hot. It would be great in a 9-5 wagon as a base engine.
