SAAB used to source their leather from Scotland; my '88 9000T had a tag on the side of the headrest proudly proclaiming it as such.
That leather was great! Durable _and_ luxurious, and needed no attention other than a wipe-down with SAAB leather conditioner or Lexol once a year... or every two years was fine too.
After 10+ years and 200,000+ miles, it still looked good, had that wonderful smell, and had no cracking, and no fading.
It was far superior to the leather found in today's 9-5, BMW 3-series, or BMW 5-series... must have been too expensive for SAAB though?
