Hi:
I had a similar problem in my previous 900 SET. Dealer changed the battery, but this did not help. I took again; they kept it overnight then told me that according to SAAB, up to 3 sec cranking time is OK (although previously the car started in 1/2 sec). Then I had the crazy idea to reset the CPU by disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes. This immediately fixed the problem and the cranking time was normal again.
I am not sure this will fix all cranking-time problems, but is is very easy to try. I havent yet tried resetting my 95, but I would imagine it is the same. You should be prepared to reset the time and date after re-connecting the battery and you will lose your preset radio stations.
Hope this helps
Regards
