Do you know what torque specs the indy used? Could it be that he still uses the old torque specs (pre 97) and therefore breaking the bolt.
Saab changed the head bolts in around 97 and later came out with an updated (lower) torque specs.
Old specs 60Nm (44lbf/ft) 80Nm (59lbf/ft) and 90 degree
New specs 40Nm (29lbf/ft) 60Nm (44lbf/ft and 90 degree
It is also crucial that NO extra oil is used on those new bolts, they are coated with an molybden film from factory.
