In your post linked above, you said "The speaker has a black plastic spacer ring lightly glued in place. This is easily removed by hand. It must be removed."
I have a 95 NG 900S, and I just bought these speakers to install in my car. There is plenty of room above the speaker for the grill to fit without removing the black plastic spacer ring.
Is it only necessary to remove this ring in the 9-5 due to interference with the grill, or should the ring be removed for sonic reasons even though it fits my application without removal? Seems the rings on my speakers are not fully glued to the unit, only glued about half way around the ring.
If this ring is removed, would that void the speaker warranty?
Also, given I have the 32.5CF's up front, would it be better to get Infinity 2-way 6 x 9's or 3-way 6x9's for the rear, to be run with the stock head unit? Kappa's or Reference?
Thanks in advance!
