Actually this is how I currently have my car set up. I used to not like DRLs but got into the habit of leaving the headlight switch in the third position most of the time anyway (especially when it's raining--NY law says you must use headlights with wipers) since they're shut off automatically with key off.
But it seems to me that the bi-xenons might not be noticeable enough to other drivers during the daytime due to their sharp cut-off.
Seems that JC Whitney does sell a DRL module, someone with an RX7 used it to power his foglights as DRLs. Might be just what I'm looking for... instead of powering the fogs, I'd power the inboard halogen lights.
