After repeated and fruitless attempts at negotiating w/ SFSC, I was all set to turn my '00 LPT wagon in - inspection was clean, car was ready to go- BUT the local dealer stepped in and negotiated/offered me an acceptable deal. At the end of the day, my purchase price was 4K below residual and 2K below SFSC's "special offer" that all lessees receive prior to expiration. In and of itself, the financial deal was no screamer, but the dealer capped it with CPO - and I bought. I've read of deals on this board which seem much better than what I received and I probably purchased the car at a price way north of auction, but with the warranty and intimate knowledge of the car's history, I'm satisfied nonetheless. But the journey to get to a final deal sure was painful, though!
