My wife got tapped on the rear driver's side door today by a pick-up truck that didn't notice he was supposed to merge. The damage is small, basically about a 3 inch scrach and a small dent maybe the size of your fist. You have to get close to notice it.
The car is leased and has another 2 years to go. What should I worry about here. The guy that hit her works for a car dealer and is at fault. The dealer said they would just pay out of pocket up to $1000 and then I'll have to deal with their insurance company.
I'm going to take it to our saab dealer for an estimate. When I get it fixed, what do I have to worry about when I turn the car in in two years? If the dent is fixed will they ding me for dimished value or anything? I wanted to make sure I get enough to cover any potential charges when I return the car.
