When I mentioned tinting my white/beige wagon's windows to the dealer, I got the standard lecture about the special glass. No doubt, it's effective.

But...even my daughter said, "It's awfully BRIGHT in here. Plus, I bought the car for long distance touring/car camping and enjoy privacy. I had the windows, except fronts, tinted with the best Llumar 20% charcoal film.

I definitely am glad I had it done. Just brought the car in for one month service and got the thumbs up and requests for tinter-guy's business card from the shop/service department guys. This isn't your soccer mom Arc wagon anymore.

PS: Hats off to SaabNet gurus who supply detailing info. Pete, the tint guy, has an immaculately landscaped house in NJ. In addition, he's proud as can be of his red garaged Cadillac CTS. I noticed some water spots and shared some of the tips for keeping the car nice that I learned on SaabNet. Over the phone, he had quoted me US$ 249 for the tinting. After the job and the care and feeding discussion, I wrote a check for two bens. Thanks, guys!
