I bought an '03 Aero a/t a couple of months ago. I test drove just about everything and researched for alomost a year. My final two were the aero and the Audi A6 2.7T biturbo. They are very similar in handling, braking and performance. The Audi biturbo is nothing like the A6 3.0. Totally different suspendion, brakes, steering, power etc.
The plus for the biturbo was the most readible display directly in front of the driver...for all audio, trips stats. etc. Large and readible even in sunlight. I might give the Audi a slight edge in interior styling, but I like the aero's more sporty, unique look. Better traction with the awd, but extra weight (about 250lbs.) and worse gas mileage. I don't need awd where I live.
The reasons I chose the aero were first, the poor reliability of Audi...that pretty much eliminated it. Second, the better value/price with rebates on the Saab. The A6 "nicely equipted" is in the low 40'sK. It is one hell of a car.
