These are lengthy, but you'll get the whole console out, cleanly. It's fairly easy to do.

- Pull shifter boot up around shifter ball.
- Remove ashtray by opening the cover and pulling that out. Then proceed to pulling out the ashtray surround by reaching up and pulling up and out.
-Remove two screws behind ashtray.
- Push seat heater/ventilation/blanks out by unplugging and pushing from behind.
- Unplug ciggarette lighter (two plugs, one large, one very small).
- Reach up and unplug the ACC (Automatic Climate Control). Then push the ACC out from behind.
- Pull out plastic piece that holds the rear vents in (behind the armrest). Pull up on this and it pops out (it's held in pretty well).
- Remove two screws that hold the rear of the console down.
- Pop wood surrounding the shifter out.
- Unplug lock button.
- Remove the four screws.
- Pull carpet away from the shifter tunnel on both sides.
- This will reveal two screws on either side of the tunnel; remove these.
- Push out window switches from underneath and unplug.
- Turn ignition cover 30 degrees and pull up.
- Loosten adjuster on E-brake.
- Tilt E-brake to clear console hole.
- Lift console up and rest on the rear seat.
- Remove the three 10 millimeter bolts at the head of the shifter assembly.
- Remove the four 30 millimeter screws at the base of the shifter assembly (two on either side).
- Lift shifter assembly and unplug the ignition.
- Pull the 13 millimeter bolt where the shifter lever assembly attaches to the shift rod coming out of the transmission (this is under the hood just in front of the firewall).
- Under shifter assembly, remove the 13 millimeter bolt where the rod attaches to the shifter. (This is a tight fit, you may have to wiggle the assembly to get the bolt all the way out).
- Pull shifter assembly out
