Most of what you were told is unfounded. Memories from upgrades to C900's?
With the added boost, I would want to know if the MY2000 vehicles had any issues with the PVC venting orifices not been large enough. And some vehicles had?have some problems with turbo seals in stock form. But with Aero trim, if everything is running well now, then these might not be a problem at all.
Many folks here have upgraded this basic engine config from the 1994 NG900's and up. We don't see failures from ECU upgrades. We would hear about such things. Tranies, clutches and gear boxes don't show problems with sane levels of modification.
Now the NG900's and 9-3 had some head gasket problems, mostly from the factory not getting the torque right. And these problems show up on unmodified engines as much as anywhere else. Ditto for rear seals on early NG900 production. But those seals were failing across the board, nothing to do with modifications.
Holes in pistons? Thats from detnation and this does not happen on the T5's and T7's. Again, this sounds like C900 stories.
So thats my perspective.
