I've installed the Pioneer XM (FM modulated) in our '99 528i and the Alpine (FM modulated) in our '00 9-5 wagon. I'm happy with both. I would rate sound quality about 70% as good as a CD-- very listenable- much better than commercial FM. Of course, the play lists and no commercials (on the stations I listen too) are the biggest plus. Unfortunately the only place we could mount the remote display was in front of where the ashtray would be in front of the shift lever. It's OK- not perfect but OK. At least we aren't covering that nice wood on the dash. The Alpine has a scrolling display but a larger and thicker remote display. Its also green, which sort of matches other dash illumination. The Pioneer is white on black- but a smaller less intrusive display. Be sure to get the new Pioneer antenna (for either)- much smaller than previous. Al & Eds Autosound (So CA) ran the antenna wire under the DOT light. Also be sure to tie power to the green wire on the radio, such that it will switch with the radio itself instead of the iginition accessory position. Hope this helps. John Clarke
