How to get more A/C from the ACC

Remember all the discussions about a year ago regarding the ACC and the A/C and not having enough cold air? We all tried the Recalibration, with little success. A few weeks ago after my son commented that his feet were freezing (front passenger) we made a discovery. It seems there is a glitch in the ACC software (at least in the '02).
When the ACC controls the A/C, the pictogram shows the arrow pointing at the face (or sometimes at the face and the feet). The cold air is barely flowing out at the feet and the face. In order to get cold air coming out at your face (and plenty of it, finally!!!) you have to press the button that shows the arrow at your feet, wait a few seconds, then press the button that shows the arrow at your face. Voila, more cold air than you have ever had before. Sometimes the setting holds, but (now that the hot weather has finally arrived) I found that I have to repeat this little exercise just about every time I start the car. A little Saab quirk, but we finally have adequate A/C in the car!
Good Luck,
AeroLady
Really cool car, finally!
