After sitting in the sun all day at work, after about 10-15 minutes of the drive home with the AC on I hear pops also. I assumed it was something that had expanded in the heat, and was now cooling down being exposed to the AC. Not sure where it is, but the sunroof mount and rear window are likely suspects.
