My first 2000 9-5 was towed a total of 6 times in the first 900 miles. Saab bought it back from me and replaced it with a new one. The second one has been better, but has still left me stranded 5 times in 4 years. I really want to love the car, but it lets me down at the worst possible times. An ECU, a battery, an alternator, a power steering hose, and most recently, another battery. It only has 30000 miles on it, it is garaged, and I have every scheduled service performed by the dealer.
From reading the board it is clear that my experience is unique. I love everything else about the car, but cannot spend another minute by the side of the road waiting for the tow truck. My lease is up in October, and I will not be getting another Saab.
