You are facing sludge build up. This is a known problem with the new lpt engine in the 9-5. I had the head gasket replaced in mine (seeping oil for about 40,000 miles) at @110,000 miles and the Saab Master Tech said that I should keep using the Mobil 1 15W-50 since the engine was like new with NO sludge build up. The head had to be decarbonized even though I use Chevro gasoline with Techron most of the time. I now follow the Techron every 3,000 mile regimen. The PVC hoses and gasket to the valve cover should be replaced if you have not done so. Also, the box on the back of the engine should be cleaned or replaced. There is a TSB on the Talaferro site that describes this.
