-Wash and wax the car
-Go buy some "Sta-bil" fuel stabilizer. Canadian Tire or Home Depot probably sells this. Drive to the gas station, then add it to the tank in the correct proportion for 18 gallons of gas; fill your tank with gasoline. Run the engine for at least 5 minutes to circulate the "sta-bil"ized gasoline (probably the drive home is enough)
-Change your oil and filter, and possibly other fluids which may be due (brake fluid, antifreeze, etc)
-If possible, put your car on jack stands to prevent flat spotting of the tires; otherwise, inflate the tires to the maximum printed on the sidewalls
-Connect the battery to a Battery Tender (see batterytender.com)
-Cover the intake and exhaust with some plastic wrap to prevent little mice or other critters from getting in there
-Some people also advise putting a few mL of engine oil into each spark plug hole and then cranking a bit (with the ignition disconnected)
-A few pillows of silica gel desiccant placed in the cabin will probably help if there's excess humidity
-IF possible, run the engine with the AC on at least every 3 weeks or so to keep the various seals supple
