Ian,
Sorry to hear about the tranny probs. The wash IMO is petty; I'd be glad to have the coupon, and not lose sight of the big picture.
I'd focus on the transmission, as it IS the real problem, and could get expensive later. Be very glad it is under warranty, and I'd check the rest of the car's warranty history at the dealer.
Take a look at Taliaferro's site (http://www.genuinesaab.com) for the rebuild kit info, ESPECIALLY if it is under warranty; I'm not sure where your transmission is in terms of the upgraded parts. Do a search on the board and get informed. But I'd try to find a dealer who's been thru this before entrusting it to someone who is going to LEARN on yours.
Especially if they didn't get the leak at first. I'd DEFINATELY speak to a manager (after counting to 150) and try to find out what was diagnosed the first time and what was actually done to correct it. Then I'd ask if the problem was misdiagnosed or incorrectly repaired. And ask that special attention is taken to NOT have it happen again.
BTW, while not solving the shifting completely, the MTF0063 fluid change HAS improved my shifting a bit on my MY '99 MT, and since the dealer has the car back, I'd push to have that service done on Saab's dime; it's a bit of a hassle to get to the drain bolts, and IIRC, the MT0063 fluid is $50 by the time you have to buy the 4.5 quarts.
Good luck, and let us know what you find out
