Richard, mine does the same thing, and is also out of warranty. Mechanic feels that the clutch is fine, and it is in the transmission.
I've only got about 1K on the new fluid, and it is improved, but that was also true for about the same distance the last time the engine mounts were removed for the serpentine belt replacement. Mounts were moved for the front swaybar, so I'm not sure yet. Give it another month or so, and I'll let you know.
That disclaimer aside, I think the shifting IS better, but it doesn't replace the weaker parts, so it's not a full fix. But it IS a lot cheaper than the transmission, and may let you put it off.
