The valves or lifters may be sticking. Give the M1 time to work. If it does not clear up, add a can of a solvent type addative that claims to clear up sticking rings and valves. Do this one or two weeks before an oil change. If you just switched from dyno to M1, drain the M1 after 3 or 4K. Do not use any oil addative that is thick like honey!!
These cans of snake oil are around 10 ounces or so. Do not add a 1 quart can of a solvent engine flush! You cannot drive or put a load on an engine with such. If the rings are sticking, that treatment might allow them to reseat and could reduce oil consumption if that has been detected.
Try the M1 0W40 with next oil change.
Whenever you have concerns with engine librication, take a moment to check that the low oil pressure light does work during the lamp check before starting.
