To address this problem, I installed the Aero suspension part for part in my otherwise plain vanilla 1999 2.3 LPT. Here is how the process works: Look under the hood and you will find a plate with the VIN on it and six alpha codes which identify the suspension components currently in your car. Then look under the hood of the Aero with the same (manual or auto) transmission as you have and write down those codes. Go to the EPC parts manual and look up the part numbers for the codes from the Aero. Depending on how old your car is, you may want to update some other parts also. (The EPC catalogue notes the VIN where new parts replaced older ones) It cost me about $2,100 in parts and labor; and one gets the benefit of Saab factory thinking for purposes of both handling and safety. However, you will have to figure out the part order yourself because Saab will prov ide you no kind of assistance. The cornering is much better and the ride for cruising on interstates is unchanged. It also accomodates the same wheels and tires as the Aero if you want to go the whole hog and get larger disks as well. Then you could re-chip the engine and have an almost-Aero for not much more than a real one...Like catching fish with a shovel -- possible, but why would you want to try?
