While attempting to load the rearmost seat from a ford windstar van into my trunk (PS for anyone who was planning on doing this: it won't fit. ;) )the metal "feet" of the seat put some fairly deep gashes in the painted top of the bumper...down to the black plastic beneath the paint. Any suggestions on how to best fix this blemish? I could go ghetto and get some silver touch up paint and fill in the scratches, but wondered if anyone had any better ideas.
I do realize its a bumper, and therefore will inevitably get scratched, dinged etc, but these scratches were totally avoidable, and i was even thinking before i lifted the damned seat into the trunk, "gee this could possibly scratch my paint," but I ignored myself and continued moronically. Therefore every time I look at the scratches I am reminded about what a fool I can be, and would like to remove these constant beacons of my stupidity if I can possibly do it cheaply.
Regards,
Brian

--I just read in Road and Track that Kentucky (I think) has outlawed playing X rated movies on in car video systems to prevent accidents, as people following the vehicle playing the movie can see what is playing through the rear window, and become distracted. The only possible explanation for such legislation I can think of is that some state lawmaker was playing porn in his minivan for his kids when he was rearended by some perv who was too close. God Bless America!
