ESP OFF indicator on most of the time

I purchased 2003 Saab Arc Wagon 2 weeks ago. (It has less than 300 mi on its odometer)
ESP OFF indicator is on most of the time as soon as engine starts (especially in warm weather)and cannot be switched on by pressing the ESP button. Sometimes - when engine cold or in colder weathers - in 20% cases it does not seem to be lighted.
Has anybody experienced the same behavior and what would be the reason?
