The more conservative drivers have much to learn at the Academy. Those who are of a more sporting nature might have developed bad habits along the way, but they at least have familiarity with the envelope of the car's capacity to turn, stop, and go. Some day (and that day may never come) your ability to avoid an accident will depend on your ability (and willingness) to drive out of the situation. If you've never driven the car near its potential, you may be afraid to do what you need to do and what the car is capable of doing.
And it's a lot of fun - well worth the time and motel bill, if not the tuitiion payment.
