I checked through previous posts on roof racks but didn't find an answer to my questions so here goes:

I'm looking into getting a roof rack for my 9-5. My previous cars had thule racks so I already have all the attachments, thus I will be staying with Thule.

The Saab website offers a Saab rack, which according to the posts here, is made by Thule. I couldn't find any info on this rack on Thule's website. They've made speciality racks for other cars e.g. VW Bettle & BMW and list those racks on their thule website, but they haven't for the Saab. Maybe I'm wrong (someone correct me). Thule's official rack solution for the 9-5 is: 400 Aero Foot Pack w/ 116 Fit Kit w/ LB50 load bars.

I'm looking for a comparrison of these two Thule solutions:
The 'Saab' thule looks 'cleaner' than the 400 Aero foot pack; however, it doesn't appear like there is a lock for the Saab option. Is there a lock for the Saab version? Again, from looking at the pictures, the 400 looks much more rugged, and appears to disperse more of the weight on the roof itself. And likewise, from the saab site it appears like the Saab option has very little 'foot' touching the roof - but that's impossible to tell from the pictures.

Can anyone give me their opinion on the two solutions if they've seen both.

Thanks,

Kevin
