Congratulations on your new car!

1) Dealer servicing is every 10,000 miles but most people should follow the "severe" schedule and change their oil every 5,000. Dealer's semi-syn oil is OK, but if you want the ultimate protection use a full synthetic like Mobil 1 0W-40. You can change early like Dean suggests, but going 5K right away is fine too; the oil filter will catch the break-in debris. The SAAB oil filter is very good, with a large media surface area and a strong canister. Stay away from Fram oil filters.

2) If you have a "rolling code" garage door remote try this technique:
a-Train one of the Homelink buttons in your car with one of your already-working garage door opener remotes. (see owner's manual for details)
b-Then on your garage door opener, press the learn button [which is probably on or near the motor]. Finally, press the button on your Homelink unit. (the button you trained in step a). That should do it.

Battery strength of your original remote is probably a factor, but if it's strong enough to trigger the garage door opener, it should be strong enough to train Homelink.

3) There are posts on this board suggesting that altering this setting increases the preamp levels, thus increasing the output of the amplifier. I'm not entirely convinced that this is true.
