And take it with a grain of salt to make your own choice. I'm not saying CR has no useful information, but if 100,000 Grand Ams are sold and they can't get enough surveys to be statistically significant, that proves that their sampling doesn't represent the general buying public properly.
And people don't necessarily answer surveys in an unbiased manner. The ones who listen to CR, prioritize what CR prioritizes. What about all the people that buy cars for other reasons, and as Jeff mentioned, perceive problems and design issues differently?
Cars are not appliances like CR likes to think. I bet 90% of Saab buyers don't think of their cars as appliances either.
