Heater not consistent

I have a 1999 9-5 V6 and the heater isnt working right. When I have it set on 72 degrees it feels cold and when I have it set to about 80 degrees I feel the heat but it only blows hot for about 20 seconds and then it gets colder. Any suggestions or comments? Thanks
