My plan to add auxillary MP3 player

OK, i've decided to take the same path I did when I wired an MP3 player into my old 2001 Yukon Denali. Use the speaker in lines from a cd-changer to interface my MP3 player. The plan is the following:
1. Buy and marry a cd-changer - Done (most expensive step)
2. Disconnect the 2(+) 2(-) speaker wires that transmit sound to the headunit and wire those to my MP3 player (Soundgate recommends using their XR-4 to interface an aftermarket headunit to the factory amplifier).
3. Wire the speaker cables from the CD-changer to the auxillary in of the MP3 player. This will control switching between the cd-changer and the mp3 music. If your auxillary device doesn't have auxillary in you would need another switchind device or just use the cd-changer as an expensive adapter.
4. Mount the mp3 player in the trunk. You cound run wires to the front of the vehicle in the case of an ipod etc.
5. Figure a way to display/control the mp3 player (I have several options here but it depends on what type of auxillary device you want to use.)
I'll keep everyone posted.
