The items that you mentioned such as the restyled aero front and rear, 220 HP engine in the Arc etc. were all in the public domain beforethat article was published, so if you are assuming that she was talking about those changes, that might not be correct. It does seem obvious that with the 9-2 and 9-7 projects taking up the majority of Saab's limited engineering and production resources, in order to make a totally new 9-5 type vehicle would push itout about 4 years from now, which is way too long to wait. For that reason,I believe that it is likely that they would( and could) revamp the 9-5 to keep it in the ball game until the revenues from the new products can help justify the expense of a full redesign. Without those additions,chances are the existing vehicle would fall so far behind the competition at Audi, Mercedes, BMW and yes, the Japanese, that it might be tough to then introduce a new version of the car that would then be about 10 model years old.
