Check through your books and manuals for the Quick Reference Guide. That's the Reader's Digest style owners manual, it'll give you all the basics in 8-10 pages instead of 200+ pages.
Meanwhile the SID, Saab Information Display is pretty straight forward. You've got a DOT column on the left and a TRIANGLE columun on the right. The DOT column is the DIST, ARRIV, ALARM, and SPEED Warning. The right column the TRIANGLE column is TEMP, D.T.E., Fuel avg, and Speed Avg.
The triangle column is a no brainer. The only thing you can do is reset the avg speed and avg fuel economy by holding CLEAR down.
The DOT column is interesting. With the DOT on DIST press and hold SET and you'll be able to enter a distance, put in 2 miles or so by pressing SET and then using the +/- buttons (same as DOT/TRIANGLE buttons) to enter a distance and then press set again. Then when you go to ARRIV it will tell you what time you'll get there. On ARRIV set in a time and it will predict the avg speed needed to travel the distance you have set. When the DIST function goes to zero a small arrow will appear to the right and instead of counting down it will pass through zero and start counting up (with the arrow displayed) in effect giving you a second trip odo. ALARM allows you to set in a time which will get you a bell warning. SPEED W, hold SET, enter a speed with the +/- buttons (which are also the DOT and TRIANGLE buttons) and hit set again and a snowflake will appear next to the speed telling you you've set in a speed warning. You'll now get a gentle gong if you exceed that speed. This for me is the most usefull function. Put the dot next to SPEED W and the speed and snowflake will be displayed, press CLEAR and you'll get rid of the snowflake and turn off the speed warning.
With the ACC, pressing AUTO an additional time will display what functions the AUTO has activated. Modify any of these and the AUTO will go out, like for instance lowering the fan speed. Press AUTO twice again and you'll restore AUTO, one more push will again display what AUTO is doing. You'll have to look in the manual, but if you have to turn on the ACC everytime you can program it to come on in the previous setting. That's probably where it's set. You can also customize a particular setting, like an extreme defrost or AC setting for a particular climate.
The rest of the controls are pretty straight forward. Look for that Quick Reference Guide. Another helpful list is the Dedicated Delivery Checklist. Again this may or may not be with your books. One journey through the list will cover virtually every feature of the car.
