Handling upgrades to '03 9-5 Arc

With last weekend's purchase of our new Honda Pilot, my '03 9-5 Arc will no longer be our collective vehicle-of-choice for family trips around town or across country. Since I now can fit my Saab a bit more to my personal tastes (within stealth and reason), I'm considering a couple of handling upgrades. I'd appreciate your thoughts on the following:
1) What would be the handling and ride comfort benefits/drawbacks be of switching from the stock Arc 16" wheels to new Aero 17" wheels? With a stock '03 Arc sway bar, would this wheel change-out give me significant handling benefits? How much harsher would it ride?
2) If I kept the stock 16" Arc wheels, would there be benefits to installing Aero-spec sway bars front and rear? Impacts to ride comfort?
3) How about if I went all-out and installed both 17" wheels and Aero sway bars? What would the benefits be compared to piece-mealing it with either 1 or 2 above?
4) Finally, how difficult is it to install front and rear sway bars (in an ill-equipped home garage)?
I look forward to your thoughts...
