If you like some of the other models more but they are not CPO, ask the dealer to CPO them and ask how much will it add to the cost of the vehicle. If they won't do it, either they don't know how to treat customers or they're hiding something from you about the other vehicles. From what i've heard, if anything goes wrong with a CPO in the first 30 days, the dealer (not the Saab warantee) must cover the costs of repair. And I don't mean, something breaking, if there is something with the vehicle (low tire thread), paint issues, etc. that is not up to CPO standards, the dealership must pay out of their pocket.

This requirement was installed to prevent less-reputable dealers from slapping a 'CPO' sticker on every used car on the lot, like you see on Honda dealerships. CPO is definitely the way to go. Some will advocate you take the additional money, put it into a CD, and if you never end up using the warantee up to 6yr/100K miles then you'll have saved yourself some $; however, it's worth the peace of mind to me to know I can take my 2000 Aero (CPO) into any Saab dealer in the country and I'll be taken care of.
