I bought the identical software (assuming it is the official Saab W.I.S. for 1998 thru 2000 model years), from the same supplier, and have had it running for nearly a year. Not that it was easy.....

I run Windows XP Home Edition - OEM version, and had loaded Microsoft's Service Pack #1 at time of W.I.S. purchase. I could not initially get the diagrams to appear on my screen although they were all present on the disc. There was an incompatibility issue between Service Pack #1 and the .cgm files used to store the service diagrams.

(I still feel this problem was/is deliberately generated by Microsoft since the .cgm file was developed by Micrografx who is now owned by a Microsoftsoft competitor.) OK, I'm off my soap box now.

Back to the resolution. I polled this board and discovered I was not the only one having this difficulty. I did some web searching and discovered a free software patch at the attached link. Hopefully it still exists, since I found it nearly a year ago.

The same problem affects Win 98, NT ver 4.0, 2000, and XP. The solution was touted as an "Alpha" copy, but it has performed flawlessly for me since loading it. There are two download steps required; the first is instantaneous, the second takes only a minute on a high-speed connection.

At least two others on this board also loaded this patch, one being Anders. Never heard a complaint that it gave anyone fits.

Hope it works for you too.
