Pick your battles. The 6 is at least 50% more labor intensive, hence costly if done by a mechanic (timing belt, spark plugs, DI eventually, gaskets eventually, etc.) I am finding that the v6 thermostat ($6 part) is buried inside the engine (3hrs labor). In exchange for about the same money, 4 cyl seem to go through gaskets and DIs but are traditionally easy to fix.
Love your Aero. I had one as a loaner, they are the spirit of the breed...felt like a go-cart:] IMHO, any Saab is a race car and requires care and attention.
