If you don't have another one to open the car, you're playing against a really expensive computer replacement down the line.
The dealer can get a blank cut from your VIN which will open the car for now. You will have to buy the transmitter and get it programmed to make it work, but I wouldn't want to be down to one key. It won't cost more than a road call from a locksmith or a replacement piece of glass, and will have the possibility of further use.
When we go on road trips, we always take at least 2 keys and have a 3rd at home where it could be sent to us. (Yes, I have had the joy of shuttling keys for a friend who got stuck MANY hours from home, and the last thing I want to deal with is no car access in the middle of the woods after a hike, ski, etc.)
