Besides, regarding the Folksam data, once a crash has happened, driver/car relationship is irrelevant, since behaviour isn't a factor when comparing different vehicles which have all crashed. Of course it's not just a matter of comparing number of injuries/fatalities with number of cars on the road.
So yes the 9-5 is indeed the safest car on the road, both according to real life data (from unbiased studies) and sensible crash testing (EuroNCAP).
