My 99 sedan v6 ran great for about 25,000 miles but the last 15,000 miles have been a nightmare. Still I love this car more than any I've ever owned. My 2000 wagon seems to have no problems after 10,000 miles. We will see whether it suffers from the same fate as the sedan. My 9-3 at 25,000 miles has had no problems so far.
I think the problem in my sedan is with the drive by wire system and unfortunately, my dealer is inept. But I too had heater problems and a few other problems in addition to the car not running right. I still think the 99 models had some bugs that had not been worked out but apparantly have been worked out in later models. Saab is famous for its upgraded parts. The problem is with a dealer who is unwilling to get the mechanics the dealer needs to do a job right the first time. Every time I take my car in, I get the feeling that I am getting the bulletin of the month fix and probably with a non-upgraded part when an upgraded part is available if someone knew enough about it. I think I'm going to ask for a Saab rep the next time.
